Our Green Initiative
Dr. Anthony Huynh, Dr. Anh Do and our staff have always been green and environmentally friendly. We feel it is our responsibility to keep the earth clean and to leave it in a better place than when we started.
When have consistently made energy efficient improvements to our office. Our milestones are as follows:
- 2016 Opening, all COMPUTER MONITORS are LED powered
- June 2018, 60% of our lights were LED powered
- June 2019, all of our lights are LED powered
- December 2019, transition to electronic patient intake forms
- March 2020, we are now happy to report that 97% of our lights are LED powered
- August 2020, transition to electronic “Doctor clipboards”
Since we opened in 2016, all of our computer monitors are LED, including our two 55″ touchscreen computers. And the majority of our computers (built by Dr. Anthony =D) are the most efficient on the market using only 30 watts of power!
Our patient intake forms are reusable, saving paper, and we offer a patient portal where patients can obtain their medical records, saving even more paper! Starting October 2019, we implemented the Blue recycling bin in the optical to remind patients of the importance of recycling and doing our part to keep our planet beautiful.
We are currently using electronic patient intake forms and electronic patient exam flow sheets to save paper!
Last, but not least, we have been a participant in Bausch & Lomb’s ONE by ONE BioTrue Recycling Program since the inception of the program. The BioTrue program recycles contact lenses, the information foil and the plastic contact lens container. Prior to the BioTrue program, there was no environmentally friendly way to recycle!
Our Partners
We love companies who provide great products and who are also environmentally friendly.
Costa is one of the frame brands we carry. They make beautiful frames, but are also environmentally friendly. Since the company started in 1983, they have supported causes that contribute to the preservation of our watery world.
Costa launched the Kick Plastic program to help reduce the amount of single-use plastic finding its way into our waterways, to reduce the amount of plastic we use as a company, and to mobilize a movement.
Part of the Kick Plastic program is the THE BIO-RESIN RAW MATERIAL PROCESS. The bio-resin frames are durable and lightweight, and hold their shape under the harshest conditions.
